WMBA Members,
As many of you have seen, legislative and regulatory activity impacting our industry is accelerating. New proposals, such as drafts including the potential elimination of the first-mortgage interest deduction, wildfire-related taxation measures, and the emerging E&O tax issue that could significantly increase origination costs, are surfacing quickly and deserve our unified attention. This is exactly why our collective voice matters.
In September, the WMBA officially launched our Advocacy Alliance Sponsorship, and we are proud to share that several strong, influential companies, have already stepped up to join us in fighting the good fight and ensure that we have a coordinated voice in Olympia. These leaders are committed to strengthening our industry’s voice and ensuring our members remain ahead of issues that directly impact lending, operations, and the consumers we serve.
We invite you to join them.
Why the Advocacy Alliance Matters
The Advocacy Alliance brings together companies and leaders across our industry to:
- Stay ahead of fast-moving legislative developments
- Strengthen unified industry positions
- Coordinate collective efforts and outreach to Olympia
- Ensure policymakers understand the real-world impact of proposed changes
- Support timely action when needed
With issues emerging at a pace we haven’t seen before, your involvement is critical to the strength and effectiveness of our advocacy efforts.
Our first Advocacy Alliance luncheon in January, featuring our lobbyist Jessica Fortescue and a member from the national MBA will include
- An overview of current legislative activity
- Insight into bills expected for the upcoming session
- A review of threats and opportunities impacting our industry
- A collaborative strategy discussion on how we respond
This luncheon is exclusive to companies who are a part of Advocacy Alliance or to companies attending as sponsors.
All sponsorship funds, and anything raised from this event will go directly toward supporting our lobbying efforts and to ensuring Jessica remains an active, engaged advocate for the WMBA.
